Sunrise Academy is an extra-classes provider based in Lebowakgomo, Limpopo, South Africa. We respect your privacy and are committed to handling personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
2. Information we collect
- Account details: name, email, phone, grade, school and parent/guardian contact.
- Academic records: subjects, test scores, progress notes entered by the admin.
- Payment records: monthly tuition payments recorded by the admin (we do not store card or bank credentials).
- Communication: announcements and messages sent to learners.
- Technical data: basic device, browser and usage information needed to keep the platform secure.
3. How we use it
- To register and approve learners.
- To deliver classes, share materials and track progress.
- To record fees and issue receipts.
- To communicate timetables, announcements and important notices.
- To keep the platform safe and prevent abuse.
4. Learners under 18
Most of our learners are minors. By registering, a parent or guardian consents on the learner's behalf to the collection and use of personal information described here.
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers that help us run the platform (e.g. hosting, authentication, email delivery), and only as needed. We may disclose information if required by law.
6. Storage & security
Information is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with access controls and row-level security. We take reasonable steps to protect data, but no system is perfectly secure.
7. Retention
We keep learner records for as long as the account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting, legal and academic reference purposes.
8. Your rights
You may request to access, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent, by emailing sunriseinc6@gmail.com. Some records (e.g. payment history) may be retained where the law requires.
